ITA. In Thailandia mi è capitato molto spesso di trovare case con l’ingresso a doppia altezza, portandomi spesso a chiedermi “ e ora che cosa ci faccio su questa parete altissima?”
ENG. In Thailand I found very often houses with double-height entrances, often asking me “and now, what am I doing on this very high wall?”
THAI. ในประเทศไทย เราพบบ้านที่มีทางเข้าที่สูงมาก เพราะมีชั้นลอยที่ทำให้พื้นที่นั้นสูงเท่ากับ 2 ชั้น เมื่อเจอห้องแบบนี้ เราถามตัวเองว่า “ตอนนี้เราจะทำอะไรบนพนังสูงๆนี้?”
ITA. Ovviamente mettere delle mensole è fuori discussione, nessuno vorrebbe salire una scala e trovarsi a tre metri di altezza per prendere un libro o pulire i soprammobili, per cui la soluzione migliore è cercare di decorare questo muro cercando di dargli un significato, come nella foto qui sopra: qui è stato inserito un caminetto, probabilmente uno elettrico, a giudicare dalla foto, sovrastato dalla televisione.
Questa colonna si trova esattamente al centro rispetto alle finestre, ed è stato decorato in modo da essere diverso rispetto al resto della stanza: un marmo, o forse un legno chiaro, suddiviso in cinque porzioni fino al soffitto, tramite degli elementi in legno più scuro, che richiama il colore del pavimento. Una soluzione decisamente semplice, ma molto d’effetto, soprattutto perché in linea con lo stile dei mobili.
ENG. Obviously putting shelves on it is out of the question, no one would like to climb a ladder and be at a height of three meters to take a book or clean the ornaments, so the best solution is to try to decorate this wall trying to give it a meaning, as in the picture here above: a fireplace has been inserted here, probably an electric one, judging from the photo, with the tv above it.
This column is located exactly in the middle of the windows, and has been decorated to be different from the rest of the room: a marble, or perhaps a light wood, divided into five portions up to the ceiling, using darker wooden elements , which recalls the color of the floor. A simple solution, but very effective, above all because it is in line with the style of the furniture.
THAI. เราจะไม่คิดใช้ชั้นวางของตกแต่งผนังนี้ เพราะไม่มีใครอยากปีนบันได ถึงความสูงประมาณสามเมตร เพื่อเอาหนังสือหรือทำความสะอาด ดังนั้นไอเดียที่ดีที่สุดคือ พยายามตกแต่งผนังให้มีไอเดียที่ชัดเจน เหมือนในภาพด้านบน: พื้นที่นี้ ออกแบบโดยเพิ่มคอลัมน์ที่มีเตาผิง (อาจเป็นเครื่องไฟฟ้า) ข้างใต้ทีวี
คอลัมน์นี้ตั้งอยู่ตรงกลางระหว่างหน้าต่าง และได้มีการตกแต่งที่แตกต่างจากส่วนอื่นๆของห้อง โดยใช้หินอ่อน หรืออาจเป็นไม้เนื้ออ่อน แบ่งคอลัมน์นั้นเป็นห้าส่วนถึงเพดาน โดยใช้องค์ประกอบไม้ที่เข้มกว่าซึ่งเรียกคืนสีของพื้น ไอเดียนี้อาจจะเป็นไอเดียง่ายๆ แต่มีประสิทธิภาพมากด้วยเพราะเหมาะกับสไตล์ของเฟอร์นิเจอร์ในห้องนี้
ITA. Anche questo soggiorno presenta un’idea simile alla precedente, ma decisamente più minimal, almeno per la parte che riguarda la colonna tv e caminetto; la decorazione in marmo è limitata, apparentemente a circa un metro d’altezza dal pavimento, ma la scelta è stata fatta a causa della presenza delle due imponenti librerie ai lati della colonna.
Avendo già altri punti “pesanti” nella stanza, il designer ha ben pensato di non esagerare con le decorazioni in quest’area, inoltre trovo siano molto funzionali le due “panche” tra la colonna e la libreria dove è posizionata la legna: una soluzione che unisce molto bene la necessità di riporre la legna per il camino all’estetica!
ENG. Also this living room presents an idea similar to the previous one, but definitely more minimal, at least for the part concerning the TV column and fireplace; the marble decoration is limited, apparently about one meter above the floor, but the choice was made due to the presence of the two big bookcases on the sides of the column.
Having already other “heavy” points in the room, the designer has well thought not to exaggerate with the decorations in the center, moreover I find the two “benches” between the column and the bookcase where the wood is positioned are very functional: a solution which combines very well the need to put wood for the fireplace to aesthetics!
THAI. ห้องนั่งเล่นนี้มีไอเดียที่คล้ายกับไอเดียเมื่อกี้ แต่มีสไตล์ minimalist ในพื้นที่เซ็นเตอร์ที่มีคอลัมน์เตาผิงและทีวี การตกแต่งนี้ใช้หินอ่อนเฉพาะในพื้นที่ที่สูงประมาณ 1 เมตร เพราะมีตู้เก็บหนังสือขนาดใหญ่ ที่เป็นจุด “หนัด” ของมุมนี้ ทำให้นักออกแบบมีความคิดที่จะไม่ให้คอลัมน์ดูหนักด้วย อีกไอเดียที่เราชอบคือม้านั่งข้างๆคอลัมน์ เพราะร่วมการมีฟังก์ชันกับความสวยงาม
ITA. Eventualmente un’altra scelta potrebbe essere quella di mantenere le decorazioni alla stessa altezza dell’ambiente circostante, come se effettivamente non si trattasse di una parete a doppia altezza, come nella foto qui sopra. La colonna del camino, invece di allungarsi fino al soffitto si ferma esattamente alla linea del soffitto del living, che si può intravedere sul retro. Il tavolo da pranzo è stato messo sotto le grandi luci che scendono dal soffitto a doppia altezza, divenendo effettivamente il punto focale dell’area. In questo caso, quindi, si può capire come non fosse necessario focalizzare l’attenzione su altri elementi.
ENG. Another possibly choice could be to keep the decorations at the same height as the surrounding environment, as if it were not actually a double-height wall, as in the photo above.
The column of the fireplace, instead of reaching up to the ceiling, stops exactly at the ceiling line of the living room, which can be seen on the back.
The dining table was placed under the large lights that come down from the double-height ceiling, effectively becoming the focal point of the area. In this case, therefore, one can understand how it was not necessary to focus attention on other elements.
THAI. ทางเลือกอีกทางที่คุณสามารถใช้ คือการเก็บการตกแต่งไว้ที่ความสูงเท่ากับสภาพของห้องเดิม เหมือนในภาพด้านบน คอลัมน์ของเตาผิง แทนที่จะยื่นขึ้นไปบนเพดาน หยุดตรงที่เพดานของห้องนั่งเล่น โต๊ะรับประทานอาหารวางอยู่ใต้โคมไฟที่ลงมาจากเพดานข้างบนสุด ทำโคมไฟกลายเป็นจุดโฟกัสของพื้นที่นี้ ในกรณีนี้เราสามารถเข้าใจได้ว่า ไม่จำเป็นต้องให้ความสนใจกับองค์ประกอบอื่นๆ
ITA. Non dimentichiamoci anche di controllare cosa si nasconde dietro all’alta parete da decorare! In questo caso qui sopra potete vedere una lunga finestra rettangolare, che riprende la decorazione in legno che si prolungano da circa un quarto della decorazione della televisione fino al muro delle scale. In questo caso, avendo già un elemento orizzontale, non è stato necessario allungarsi verticalmente, e il risultato è molto gradevole agli occhi, richiamando sia lo stile minimalista che lo stile “loft”.
ENG. Let’s not forget to check what is hidden behind the high wall we want to decorate! In the case above you can see a long rectangular window, which recall the wooden decoration extending from about a quarter of the tv’s decoration to the wall of the stairs.
In this case, having already a horizontal element, it was not necessary to put vertical elements, and the result is very pleasing to the eye, recalling both the minimalist style and the “loft” style.
THAI. อย่าลืมตรวจสอบสิ่งที่อยู่หลังผนังสูงที่เราอยากตกแต่ง ในกรณีข้างบนนี้ คุณจะเห็นหน้าต่างรูปสี่เหลี่ยมผืนผ้ายาว ซึ่งดูเป็นรูปแบบเหมือนชิ้นตกแต่งด้วยไม้ ซึ่งขยายจากประมาณหนึ่งในสี่ของการตกแต่งทีวีไปถึงผนังของบันได

Se invece siete tanto fortunati da avere un soppalco senza alcun muro divisorio, potete creare una soluzione in vetro e ferro in netto contrasto con la parete sottostante, ma che dà un senso di continuità con lo stile della scala, oltre che a rendere la camera da letto più luminosa e visivamente larga.
ENG. If, on the other hand, you are lucky enough to have a mezzanine without a partition wall, you can create a solution in glass and iron in contrasts with the wall below, but which gives a sense of continuity with the style of the staircase, as well as make the bedroom brighter and visually wider.
THAI. หากว่าคุณมีชั้นลอยที่ไม่มีผนังกั้น คุณสามารถสร้างผนั่งแบ่งโดยใช้แก้วและเหล็ก ที่ดูตัดกับผนังด้านล่าง แต่ให้ความรู้สึกต่อเนื่องกับสไตล์ของบันได เช่นเดียวกับในภาพข้างบน ข้อดีคือห้องนอนจะดูสว่างและกว้างมากขึ้น
ITA. Ovviamente se siete dei lettori accaniti e volete mettere in esposizione la vostra collezione, potete sempre decidere di costruire delle librerie come nelle foto qui sopra, ma personalmente, sebbene le trovi molto belle da vedere, non ritengo che siano esattamente funzionali, o almeno, sono sicura che se avessi a casa mia uno spazio del genere perderei subito la voglia di salire e scendere dalle scale ogni volta che voglio consultare un libro!
ENG. Obviously if you are an avid reader and you want to show your collection, you can decide to build libraries like the photos above, but personally, although I find them very beautiful to look at, I don’t think they are exactly functional, or at least, if I had such a space in my home designed like that I would immediately lose the desire to go up and down the stairs every time I want to consult a book!
